2. Introduction
________________________

DVDIdle helps you to extend lifetime of your DVD drive.
By using Smart Read-ahead Cache, DVDIdle saves DVD data which will be played soon onto hard disk cache or RAM cache, and feed it to DVD player then, so that DVD drive can take a rest.
For example, a 6X-speed DVD drive will only work 15 minutes when you are watching a 90 minutes DVD movie.

DVDIdle works in the background to provide Cache for DVD player automatically.
With DVDIdle's help software DVD player like PowerDVD, WinDVD, etc. are able to provide smooth DVD playback while DVD drive is sleep!

Other features include Macrovision Free, Operation Free, Direct Play DVD menu or movie, and run self at DVD programs startup automatically.

The latest version of DVDIdle can be downloaded from the following

During the setup, please follow instructions on display.


3. System Requirements
________________________

Windows XP, 2000, ME, 98, 98SE or Windows NT4.0 SP5+
6X-speed DVD drive or above
PowerDVD 3.0/4.0/XP/5.0, WinDVD 2000/3.0/4.0/Platinum/5.0, ATI DVD Player, CinePlayer 4.0, Sonic CinePlayer 1.5, DirectDVD, NVDVD, Windows Media Player, PCFriendly Player, InterActual Player, TheaterTek DVD or UltraDVD
Pentium II 500MHz or above with 64MB RAM
1MB hard drive space for installation
At least 300MB free hard drive space or 256MB RAM for Smart Read-ahead Cache


4. Quick Start
________________________

Run your favorite DVD player software as usual, DVDIdle will work well automatically.

5. Order Information
________________________

DVDIdle is distributed as shareware. That means, you can install and try it for 30 days. During this evaluation period, software is fully functional.
To continue using DVDIdle after the 30-day evaluation period, you should pay a registration fee.
